Proposed bylaws wording

1. Corporate members: Corporate membership in the Association shall be open to all publishing companies with one or more publications issued at fixed, regular intervals but not less than monthly, located and circulated within Rhode Island and that comply with the code of ethics from the Society of Professional Journalists. Also eligible are digital-only outlets that comply with the code of ethics and publish new content at least monthly. All outlets eligible for corporate membership must generate at least 50 percent of their news product and revenue through the written word, or, if revenue isn't a factor, 50 percent of their news product. A majority of all stories must contain bylines of staff and freelance journalists. All organizations applying for membership will provide a statement of ownership, and all must have a publicized business telephone number and office address in Rhode Island within 50 miles of the primary communities being served (a home address suffices). Media outlets functioning primarily as aggregators of content or creating links to other outlets will not be eligible.
